Even though it's not particularly a Korean thing, non-Asian people getting tattoos of Asian words/symbols etc etc that they don't really understand can be particularly appalling and/or amusing to those who really speak the language(s)---or so I've heard.
...which is why a friend of mine and i were talking about starting a band called "love hate shoes."
